Eastern Barn Owl Fine Art Print
Eastern Barn Owl Fine Art Print
Fine art print of original painting.
Native to the Canary Islands (off the coast of Spain and Africa), Canary Palm Trees were planted in Centennial Park in the 1890’s. These trees are invasive and since then, Kauri Pines (native to Eastern Queensland) have been planted to replace them. Although they are invasive, they have become a preferred habitat for Eastern Barn Owls, who stay many months at a time, roosting just underneath the canopy. At dusk they fly over the fields in search of rodents. We’ve been fortunate to observe the Barn Owls of Centennial Park over many years and this artwork celebrates their unique and special connection to the invasive Canary Palm Tree.
